Royal Horticultural Society, Chelsea Flower Show – Gold awarded garden in association with Willmott & Associates

By partnering with Willmott & Associates, Joey crafted a sustainability narrative for a garden at the Chelsea Flower Show, London, UK.

Willmott & Associates approached The Prince’s Charities seeking a charity partner. The brief was to develop a key global sustainability message linked to a beautiful garden design.

What we did

Joey created a narrative to encourage people to ponder about sustainability int he context of global population growth.

The result was The 9 Billion Conversation Garden.

The garden narrative represented a lifelong sustainability conversation between businesses and communities. Core to the garden design was a grass amphitheatre representing the gathering of society, and three multi-stemmed trees symbolising business, community and the individual. Two pools invited social interaction and reflection.

The garden was a reflective place asking passers-by to stop and think about achieving sustainability in the context of a world faced with so many challenges. It was a reflective, spiritual place, offering hope and self-evaluation.

The Garden achieved a Gold Medal with significant BBC and other media coverage for The Prince’s Charities and Willmott & Associates. The garden was also visited by HRH Prince Phillip.
