Verbier Green Pioneering Summit
Approached by the organisers of the inaugural Verbier Green Pioneering Summit, Switzerland Joey Tabone advised on environmental innovation, developed content, encouraged a global green entrepreneur showcase and partnered with hedge funders to put sustainability at the heart of mountain communities.
What we did
Joey led an exploratory visit to Verbier to scope a potential partnership addressing climate change impacts from the mountains to the sea. Through his extensive network and with the backing of The Prince’s Charities, he created new opportunities for innovation and investment.
Seizing on an opportunity to build partnerships and put purpose ahead of profit, Joey co-chaired the Summit in Verbier for 3 consecutive years.
Involvement, led to global interest in the Summit including from a prominent investor who launched the concept for the world’s first solar powered aeroplane.
The work enabled led to the appointment of The Prince’s Charities by The Canton de Valais to lead the design of a sustainable, walkable neighbourhood in the mountain region. This work identified the unique challenges facing mountain communities, engaged the local community and local authority in the design, and informed future planning focussing with environment at its heart.
Joey’s leadership and networking skills, created partnership opportunities for sustainability initiatives supported by The Prince of Wales’s Charities along with several platforms for funders interested in emerging green business ventures.
