The King's Foundation
The King's foundation (formerly known as the Prince's foundation)
Creating communities for a more sustainable world.
The King’s Foundation demonstrates how effective and multi-faceted partnerships bring about a more sustainable approach to building safer and more beautiful communities, create inclusive development, support the use of sustainable transport and create education opportunities.
What we did
Joey identified key partners, who together instilled within local communities a greater understanding of the link between sustainability within the built environment. He was on the team that developed the Start sustainability concepts. He uncovered international platforms for The King’s Charities and helped develop charity partnerships in Switzerland, the Middle East and Africa.
Joey hosted senior business leader events such as at Poundbury, HRH’s sustainable, mixed-use, walkable urban extension to Dorchester in South West England. His work explored and promoted the environmental, social and economic benefits of walkable, mixed use neighbourhood developments.
Joey’s strong skills in persuasion resulted in an education partnership with The Building Research Establishment in Watford, UK. This partnership led to the construction of a first-ever exemplary project called The King’s Natural House at the site – demonstrating that traditional building materials, philosophy and techniques deliver cost-effective, long-term economic, environmental and social returns.
